Pays Voironnais: their challenges and the solution provided by Nomadia
Presentation
Located in the Isère region, the Pays Voironnais is a federation of 31 municipalities with a population of approximately 94,000 residents. To guarantee the safety of its lone workers, the community has chosen to implement the Nomadia Protect application, paired with Crosscall smartphones.
Key figures
- 94,000 inhabitants across 31 municipalities
- 850 employees
- 75 lone worker positions
The challenge
Ensuring the safety of lone workers
With around 75 lone worker positions across the organisation, it was essential to implement effective measures to prevent risks and ensure the well-being of staff.
Adding to the complexity is the fact that some of these lone worker roles involve occasional or temporary tasks. It is therefore crucial to be able to identify when an employee is alone for a certain period in order to ensure their safety.
The solution brought by Nomadia
To meet this challenge, the Pays Voironnais Urban Community decided to place its trust in Nomadia and deployed the Nomadia Protect lone worker safety solution.
Thanks to this smartphone app, employees can feel safe when working alone. The app can trigger an alert in the event of a fall, prolonged immobility, or a voluntary SOS. It is easy to use and simple to configure.

From an admin perspective, it’s extremely straightforward we know exactly what to do and when. It’s just a matter of ticking boxes. It’s not complicated and it gives us some flexibility, especially with sensitivity adjustments.

In case of an incident, the app also features an automatic call pickup function, allowing employees to communicate even if they’re unable to physically pick up the phone.

The staff who use it daily are happy with the deployment. It’s all about habit and proper support. The automatic call pickup in the event of an incident is a real advantage: the phone answers on its own, so the agent can speak even if they’re unable to physically reach the device.
