🤝 At the heart of the partnership: complementarity

The partnership between Securitas Monitoring and Nomadia stems from a simple truth: an alarm that goes unanswered is nothing more than a signal. Nomadia, with its Nomadia Protect mobile app, provides the alert detection and transmission system. Securitas, a company specializing in remote monitoring, provides the operational response, from verification through to activating the emergency response chain.

"This partnership was built up gradually, starting from shared client projects. We first worked together by cross-recommending our solutions to one another. The partnership was then structured around an automated IT interface between Nomadia's servers and Securitas's servers, ensuring 100% seamless, redundant management that complies with the highest standards in our respective fields: APSAD certification for remote monitoring, and, on Nomadia's side, ISO 27001."

Today, the combined offering of Nomadia Protect and Securitas's monitoring services is the only lone-worker protection (LWP) app-based solution included in Securitas's catalogue. This integrated solution can be purchased through either partner, with the same guarantees of security and responsiveness.

🔔 From alert to safety: a seamless response chain

Nomadia Protect takes the form of an app installed on the employee's smartphone. No dedicated device or other specific equipment is required. It allows an alert to be triggered in several ways: pressing the dedicated button, shaking the phone, automatic fall detection, or detection of prolonged immobility. A timer function makes it possible to secure interventions in areas without network coverage or during home visits: the employee starts a countdown before entering, and if they fail to confirm they've left within the set time, an alert is automatically generated.

Every alarm transmitted contains the user's precise GPS coordinates, their identity, and the nature of the alert. It is received at one of Securitas's operational centers. Three interconnected centers are currently operational for managing Nomadia alarms, with a goal of five interconnected centers in the future. The first available operator handles the alert, carries out verification, and, depending on the situation, dispatches emergency services or notifies the responsible contacts designated by the company.

"Fortunately, the vast majority of alerts don't result in emergency services being called in! We far prefer handling a hundred false alarms than arriving too late to a critical situation. Our rate of actually dispatching firefighters or police sits between 3% and 4% of the total volume of alarms received."

In the event of a confirmed incident (that is, one validated either by a Securitas operator or by the user themselves) the response chain kicks in without delay.

Simple deployment, with no technical constraints

What convinces clients to adopt the Nomadia-Securitas solution is, first and foremost, how simple it is to implement: everyone already has a smartphone, installation is done remotely, deployment support is included, and everything is transparent, since the client's administrator has access to the full history through their own interface.

"The most convincing element remains the live demonstration. We offer the prospect a chance to test the app: within a minute and a half, it's installed on their phone; one more minute, and it's configured from their computer. When they trigger an alarm, Securitas calls them back within seconds and confirms that firefighters can be called if needed. From that moment on, any objections or reservations disappear."

From a technical standpoint, the implications for the client's IT department are minimal. The app is installed from standard app stores, Nomadia operates in SaaS mode, and nothing is installed on the client's servers. IT departments are nonetheless often involved at the start of a project to confirm there's no risk to company systems and to ensure GDPR compliance. Once reassured on these points, they have no further reason to get involved.

The real work of deployment is organizational. It primarily involves identifying which employees need to be equipped, then configuring alert sensitivity and alert types according to each role, and defining the call chain in the event of an incident. These settings are managed with just a few clicks through the Nomadia portal by an internal administrator. Since no particular technical skill is required, this administrator can just as easily be an HR manager, a health & safety (HSE) manager, or a line manager.

📈 A solution with no barrier to entry: from 1 to several thousand users

Thanks to how easy it is to deploy, use, and administer, the Nomadia-Securitas solution is just as well suited to a company wanting to protect a single employee as to an organization with thousands.

Client case study – DGFiP

French Directorate General of Public Finances

This is the case of the French Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFiP), which in 2023 equipped nearly 10,000 agents (tax inspectors, public finance bailiffs, and cadastral surveyors) who are exposed to situations of isolation and aggressive behavior while on assignment. The solution deployed at the DGFiP includes a discreet alarm enabling silent remote listening, as well as voice intervention to defuse tense situations before they escalate.

🌍 Promising prospects ahead

Advances in onboard algorithms (better fall detection, more precise indoor location tracking, smarter handling of false alarms) continuously improve the solution's performance and effectiveness without changing its underlying philosophy. In addition, the gradual integration of artificial intelligence tools is lightening the workload of Securitas operators by sparing them the least critical tasks, so they can remain even more available for the moments "when it really counts."

In a world where, for millions of workers, quality of life at work starts with safety, the Nomadia Protect-Securitas solution is all the better positioned for having thoroughly proven itself over twelve years.

"Demand for worker protection solutions is growing everywhere in the world. Securitas operates in more than 50 countries and has harmonized its operational tools at the European level in recent years. On its side, Nomadia is seeing growing demand from clients in the UK and Belgium, and discussions are underway for Spain. We've put Nomadia in touch with our colleagues in these countries so the solution can become available in other markets. We're delighted that our partnership is expanding into other countries, helping ever more workers do their jobs with greater peace of mind,"
