Born in 2018 from the merger of Groupe GC and Medisita-Suez, Proserve DASRI is today France's leading manager of HICRW — Healthcare Infectious Clinical Risk Waste (known in France as DASRI: Déchets d'Activités de Soins à Risques Infectieux). The company processes 75,000 tonnes of HICRW per year, collected from 35,000 customers including hospitals, care homes, laboratories, clinics, physicians, tattoo artists, and private individuals. To carry out this critical mission, Proserve DASRI relies on 470 employees across around fifty branches and 350 specialized vehicles adapted to the transport of specific waste streams.
With 43% market share in France and revenue of €56 million, Proserve DASRI deployed Nomadia TourSolver to automate and optimize the planning of its collection routes, in full compliance with one of the most stringent regulatory frameworks in the logistics sector.

HICRW collection is not logistics like any other. Every route must comply with a set of non-negotiable legal constraints:
Legal deadline for customers producing more than 100 kg of HICRW per week — an absolute constraint that must be built into every route.

The Challenge: An Inadequate Tool Post-Merger and a Digital Transformation to Drive
- Existing tool too rigid after the merger: before the merger, only Groupe GC used a route optimization tool. It lacked the necessary flexibility and had no sectorization module, making planning time-consuming and unreliable.
- No location intelligence for sectorization: without a tool capable of refining the territorial sectorization around branches, routes were built without optimal geographical insight — generating unnecessary kilometers.
- Complex time window modeling: integrating the specific time constraints of each customer type (24/7 hospitals, GP practices with strict hours, care homes with limited availability windows) exceeded the capabilities of the previous tool.
- Insufficient traceability from collection to disposal: guaranteeing access to BSD forms during transport and ensuring complete traceability of each waste item, from collection through to disposal, required a tool integrating this regulatory dimension.
- Complex management of staff replacements and leave: without a flexible planning tool, reorganizing routes during driver absences represented a significant workload for operations managers.
